My dearest God,

Getting ready for a garage sale yesterday nearly killed me. I was so beat carrying heavy boxes, moving tables, setting things up, and pricing nickle and dime items. I was so tired when I dropped into bed after my granddaughter's birthday party. On a rainy, thunderstorm warning day we are going to hold the sale event.

A lot of work has been done but I am not sorry. I may not make much money. However, I believe in recycling. What a wonderful idea to sell unused, unnecessary, and unneeded items for a fraction of the cost. All the way around it helps.

I am more and more aware of how I need to help the environment. I think of my grandchildren and children of our community. I do not want to leave a cluttered earth behind when I die. I want to be responsible. Recycling moves things around instead of making new or discarding. Whoever came up with the idea, I think they not only acted responsibly; they made it possible for people to purchase needed items for home, personal use and work.

O Lord,
help us
be aware
of all
that is
around us.
Make us conscious
of responsible living.
Teach us
your way
of caring
for our home,
planet earth.
I thank you
for the privilege
of living here.

Love, Andrea
