Dear God,
I made nine Christmas bags today. As I made ready to weave the last ribbon through the open seam, I couldn't get the safety pin to budge. Why? Because I had sewn the top seams shut. I had to get my seam ripper and tear out what I had done. I didn't like it at the end of the steamy hot day but I did it nonetheless.
What the little exercise taught me is this: When I make a mistake, I have another chance to redo what I have done. As I reflected upon a conversation earlier in the day, I realized how many chances you have given me, my husband, and my family. Because of second chances, my relationships have grown, sweetened, deepened and blossomed. There have been plenty of mistakes to be sure; however, your grace has afforded us opportunities to reconstruct our lives giving us the gift and blessing of renewal.
Thank you,
O God,
for today's
teaching moment.
Thank you
for revealing
deeper truths
and reminding me
that you
are active
in our
daily lives.
Thank you
for not
leaving me
to my
own devices
but rather
for providing tools
with which
to alter
my ways.
May all glory,
honor and praise
be yours today.
Love, Andrea
