Dearest God,

The days are fleeting; my granddaughters go home in a week. Our time has been prized. We shall always remember our days together.

I love the idea of generational families. I love my daughters and I love loving their children. It is not so much what we do each day, although it is usually fun. It is the way in which we respond to one another. There is joy in being together. We laugh easily and I have taught the children to be spontaneous, erupting in silliness at any moment. Whether trying on crazy hats and laughing like we will never stop or chasing each other at the beach or leaping in the air in the driveway, there is a genuine deep love, an appreciation and respect for one another. We make memories to last a lifetime.

I imagine that our relationship with you is the same. Don't you open us every day to opportunities to be together? Don't you want us to laugh at ourselves, our own craziness at times, and our ability to be creatively silly? Don't you make ways for our love to grow more and more, making memories for eternity's lifetime? Don't you?

Amazing God,
how much
I love
your ways.
You instill
within us
the talent
to let go,
to surrender
our stiffness,
to give in
to silliness,
and to ride
the wave
of joy
with others.
And why not?

Love, Andrea
