Dearest God,

All around me I hear of change, aching change for some whose health is deteriorating.  Some are moving to nursing homes, others to infirmaries.  When I stayed at the monastery, I stood a while looking at pictures of when it was a convent and girl's school.  After 40 years things changed when public schools were built and suddenly there were too few students and nuns to teach.  The school was closed.  Years later the building was torn down. Change.

As I consider climate change and all the weather-related storms, even brutal ones, I know change is coming.  We will have to live life on our toes, preparing ourselves for what may come.

I know change is inevitable.  Tomorrow will not be like today or even the day after.  Things will change and we will have to change with them.  It may be scary, unpredictable, and challenging.  But change will not come without you.

Remind us
of your
living presence
in every situation
and condition.
Tell us
one more time
of your love
that never changes
even though
we do,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
