Dear God,

Your blessing goes before us!  You know the work you want to do.  Your love reaches to everyone.

For five years I have been laboring in the woods.  In the beginning it was nothing more than an ominous overgrown mass that lined our property.  No one went there; not even us.  But one day you whispered to me there was a living sanctuary inside.  You piqued my interest and I began to pull weeds, cut down tall cow roses, dig up large root systems, prune tree limbs and branches, and carry away rubbish.

Year after year I did more but still no one came.  But this year one came by to check it out and then another.  A couple even came to say they looked at this house for a possible purchase but they never even looked at the woods.  The woman stepped onto the path and could not stop saying how beautiful it was.  Later in the day she brought her mother over and she talked about how inspiring it was.  I invited her to come anytime for a visit and bring her yellow lab who loves to tear across the yard, run down the hill, and jump into the river.

I am not telling you anything you do not already know; however, I am saying it aloud because I see where your vision is beginning to take people.  One woman told me she felt your spirit when she stepped onto the spiritual path I have formed.  You have a work to do and you are finally inviting people in.  Although I still have much work to do over the next five years, I know your blessing awaits those who will come to the "citadel of faith," the name my husband gave it in a nightly prayer.

You are God;
there is none
like you.
Thank you
for daily blessings,
for leading me
in my assignment.
Thank you
for those
who have come
and those
who will come
to be blessed
by you.
Thank you
for your trust
in me.
I am honored
by your presence.

Love, Andrea
