Dear God,
Thank you for the magnificent seasons of winter, spring, summer, and autumn. When it is winter time, I glory in the snow, tiny flakes that love to stick to the windows. In the spring I rejoice in tiny buds unfolding into gorgeous flowers. Summer allows me to get excited watching my favorite tomatoes grow and then eat them whole with a salt shaker in my hand. And autumn...well, autumn is the great splash of color before the cold of winter sets in. How I love to gaze upon gold, red, and orange.
The change of seasons reminds me of the need to change in human life. Every day is unique and often calls for a decision, a change, a new idea. If I am unwilling to change as life changes, I simply won't thrive in the changing environment. But when I see how often you come expecting a change in me, I know the challenge comes from you. Being transformed means I too can exhibit the beauty of the seasons. I can show my colors or display new growth. I can offer gifts that can bless others or surrender, let go of what was for what will be.
What I know most of all is you are behind all good work. You are ever creating in nature and in us. You want and can bring out the best in us when we are open, completely open to your creative spirit.
Teach us
to trust you,
Living God;
transform us
today and tomorrow.
Make us
what you want
so we too
can contribute
to the world
around us.
Thank you
for delivering
so many gifts.
Love, Andrea
