Dear God,
You spread seeds of faith in so many mysterious ways! You want to connect with your children. You want to inspire us to faith, hope, and courage. Only you, Lord, care so much.
I don't remembering sowing the seeds that came up in our flower garden this spring. The tiny blue forget-me-not flowers sit at the feet of the nearly 100-year-old roses. They are beautiful.
The sweet flowers draw me back 18 years when we stood at a monument in Kiev, Ukraine, the site of a beautiful park turned into a death camp where 100,000 were killed because they were not from a "pure" race. Babiyar, tainted, spoiled, and ruined, refused to let evil have the last word. The park remembered who it was and one day flowers began to sprout up giving love its way. Hundreds of tiny reminders of love bloomed and even today the tiny blue forget-me-nots rise, die, and rise again, a symbol of faith, love, and mercy.
Thank you
for your
wondrous ways,
O God.
Thank you
for blessings
that come out
of the ashes.
Thank you
for the tiny
blue forget-me-not.
Love, Andrea
