Dear God,
When my daughter said yes to two of my grandchildren staying overnight, a smile spread across my face. Who is more darling than a nine-year-old boy and an eleven-year old girl who call me Grandma, Grandma Andrea, Gram Cracker, and other silly names? Not a single soul.
I recognize more and more what gift grandchildren are. Thank you for their love, sweetness, and funny ways. Thank you for the prized moments when we make memories for a lifetime. Thank you for "I love you's" that make my heart swell like the Grinch's when he realized the deeper joy in the who people. I watch them grow, tease them, challenge them, make them laugh, and remind them just how much love I have for them. All learning does not come from me; I learn from them as well. They bless me right back.
Every day is gift, Loving God, and they all come from you. Remind me to count my blessings.
Thank you
for Rylan
and Lucy
and all
my grandchildren.
Thank you
for the gift
they are.
May I
always sing
your praise
for the blessings
they are.
Love, Andrea
