Dear God,

As we lay snug in our mother's womb, you began to create a circle of friends, loved ones if you will, for each of us.  When our parents announced our conception, some shared their joy, others their prayers.  Throughout our lives, our circle stretched to include family, friends, teachers, neighbors, co-workers and even strangers.  Year by year numbers of people stepped into our sacred space adding acceptance, challenge, hope, blessing, inspiration, knowledge, wisdom and peace.  

Even as I sit here writing, faces come to me, some who were at my birth, some who stayed for a little while, some who walked with me through loss, sorrow and grief, some who taught me valuable lessons, some who nudged me toward an uncertain future, some who brought me pain but through it stretched me beyond what I thought feasible and some who still today remain by my side.  But there is one whose very presence made it possible for me to discover all whose lives touched mine.  That is you, Loving God.  Your arms are the circle who welcomes all in.
