Dear God,

There is no straight line upward in healing.  It is filled with ups and downs, sideways, tumbling, falling and getting back up.  Strange, but the way it really works.  We all want the straight line but I have discovered that the others provide opportunities to encounter you.

When we expect straight lines, we are planning our own future, drawing lines and keeping within them. We leave no room for high moments, growth patterns and sudden surprises.  True healing is found in these.  

Holy God,

we so forget

we are

in your hands.

We forget

you are part

of our journey.

for every moment

that provides us

with faith.
