Dear God,

My heart is broken! My own country has lost its way!  Our president is a monster, an evil monster whose only desire is to feed his own ego and those of his followers.  He is willing to threaten, abuse and kill to get what he wants.  How did we get here?

Have we totally lost our moral compass?  Have we forgotten our commitment to love our neighbor?  Have we tossed away our sense of compassion and mercy?  How do we return to our values of moral good, kindness and caring for others?  Weren't we formed as a nation with these values?  We have made so many mistakes; how can we ever expect you to walk with us?

O God,

please draw close

to all

our president

and nation

has injured.

Please heal

wounded hearts

and minds.

Help us find

our way home

to you.
