My dearest God,

Like Hansel and Gretel who dropped bread crumbs so they could find their way home, you leave a trail for us. A life-threatening illness, a mistake, a hurt or disappointment, even an ecstatic joyous moment can lead us to you. An ordinary day can turn extradordinary when we discover your trail and follow it.

A song can get me up and moving. A prayer uttered on my behalf can lift me up causing me to soar. A tragedy can dislodge me from complacency and motivate me to do something to move someone else. An idea can take root challenging me to make a difference in the lives of those around me. Each and all of these can gently guide me to you.

And what happens when we reach our destination? Praise, dancing with glory, joy victorious, renewed hope, restored peace, gratitude and determined faith.

Who would
ever choose
to take
a route
without you,
Living God?
One moment
with you
is like
standing atop
a snow capped mountain
at sunset.
Let us
never forget
to keep
our eyes
to heaven
and our feet
ready to travel
with you.

Love, Andrea
