Dearest God,
The old is beginning to pass away; the new is emerging. As I worked in the flower bed Autumn tempted me with her cool, crisp air.
It is time for the seasons to shift once again. Soon the trees will display their gorgeous red, yellow, and orange leaves, the color determined back last winter. And before we know it, they will lose their richness, turn brown, and let go, giving all their energy to the root system that will enrich itself this winter.
How I love these transition times! As I received my first Fall alert, it gave me opportunity to celebrate summer's glory. I reflected back upon all my hard work enabling flowers, trees, shrubs, and herbs to grow. But then I thanked you for the power to grow.
Just as earth's seasons are changing, so are some of our family dynamics. We too are in a transforming time. It's not nearly as fun because pruning never is; however, what comes is beautiful, pregnant with possibility.
Make us ready
for the season
of color,
Great Master.
Prepare our souls
for change.
Make us ready
to receive
the hidden,
the unique gifts
of your spirit,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
