Dear God,
Does faith move people to do good? Does it inspire people to reach for a life that enriches others? Does faith give hope such as to add years to a life? Does faith add joy to the earth? If we choose to believe in our self but nothing more, do we limit our chances for a good life?
As I consider the benefits of faith, they seem so great that to assume anything else seems pointless. I have seen faith move spiritual, physical, and emotional mountains. I have witnessed healing come after faith was enlisted. I have observed hope and peace as they rose up in the soul after faith was integrated as a commitment to you and your way of life. Faith in you and loyalty to love one's neighbor whoever, whatever, and wherever the neighbor is seems to release an element of good in the cosmos.
A life in you, a life with you just makes sense. It connects us to the eternal and I believe the eternal is always good and never meant for evil. Your love is made manifest in us as we choose to walk with you all our days. And if your love can grow in us, then surely like yeast it can grow in others as we share it. Faith is just a great idea.
Merciful God,
grow your love
in us.
Show us how
to truly
love one another.
Lead us
in grace
so we
can help make
the world
a better place
for all.
Curb our arrogance
and increase
our humility
so we can
more readily
love one another.
Teach us
to let faith
move us
today and tomorrow
and all
our next days.
Love, Andrea
