Dear God,

A single note can be beautiful alone but when accompanied by other notes can be stupendous.  The musical anthem entitled, Prelude in Classic Style, inspired us at church this morning.  The piano-organ duet touched me in the solar plexus.  No doubt you were the song!

My husband and I slipped into the back of the church just after the morning greeting and left following the Eucharist because he had little energy with which to talk with people we have known and loved for a long time.  Pastor of that church for 18 years and a driving force to give them greater growth opportunities by moving the church to a different location, he/we needed the spiritual energy that only the church can give when gathered together in your name.

You have taught us to look for you in every place, in every situation and condition.  You have shown us the power of the church to stir the human soul not because we as a community of faith are perfect but rather because we gather at all.  You created the church and gave it to us as gift.  The real push for me to gather with the community of faith is you love the church and you love us.  My presence is my gratitude for the gift. I am thankful!

God of grace and glory,
all praise
belongs to you.
When we fail
to gather
with you,
we say NO
to your
loving gift.
When we
do not
give time
and space
for you
in the church
you created
we turn
our backs
for something else.
But when
we do gather,
when we sit
at your feet,
when we pray
with our brothers
and sisters in faith,
when we eat
from the
same table,
and when
we sing
your song,
I believe
there is
much joy
in heaven.
Today we had
to gather
at your church
to bless you.

Love, Andrea
