My dearest God,
Memories made in the human soul rest there until called forth. At worship this morning as I opened my mouth to sing the songs of Taize, I was surely transported to the tiny village in south central France. A global community of people, we sing one song, yours.
We sang four-part harmonies of the songs written by brothers of Taize. The more we sang, the more my heart was awash in faith's love. As we quieted our hearts following the scripture reading, we entered into silence, that golden space where God and we meet, where the human and divine come together to sing one song, where prayer and meditation speak profoundly. I found myself caught up in the darkness where the light allowed me to walk and there I found the peace of Christ.
Although the organ and piano duet played the final song, In the Lord I'll Be Ever Thankful, I could not help but sing my own praise and thanksgiving. What gifts are ours are we submit ourselves to your loving, living spirit in worship with the community of faith.
Good Lord,
Hope of the World,
thank you
for singing
your song
one more time.
Thank you
for allowing us
to sing
with you.
Thank you
for divine love
that never stops giving.
I will always be yours, Andrea
