My dearest God,
The greatest moments of faith come when we are not expecting it, when suddenly you appear to bless. I could not have imagined it in a packed hotel conference room.
When we signed up for the Irish concert, I knew it would be great fun. I did not know we would find you in the lyrics, the musical notes, and the dance. Oh me of little faith! When the group leader welcomed us to the event, somehow I was moved by his gentle spirit. Perhaps I was looking for a bit of comfort because I supposed the room would get very hot and I would have to leave for health reasons. But then the fiddler began to play and we were drawn into a sacred web of music and dance that wafted through the room for nearly two hours.
The haunting sounds of varying instruments led us down a winding road toward faith, hope, and joy. As we traveled, you spoke of faith that comes from deep suffering, of hope that emerges from fear, and joy that bubbles up out of trust forged out of pain and darkness.
Blessed God,
you continually amaze
and bless.
You speak faith
in ways
we do not expect.
You fill us
with the things
of heaven.
Love always, Andrea
