Dear God,

What is prayer? This morning this question came to me as I read my devotions.  You came bearing good news.  Prayer is carrying love to someone who desperately needs it.  Prayer is walking with someone through their trial.  Prayer is lingering with God as we linger with another soul in trouble.  Prayer is celebrating the presence of God.  Prayer is offering faith to another.  Prayer is giving the gift of our presence to someone in need.  Prayer is living with you and inviting someone else in for shelter, peace, hope, comfort, and faith.  Prayer is so much more than uttering a few words to the Master and expecting you to do it all.

Sometimes I forget the magnitude of your love in prayer.  I forget prayer is all about love.  I forget my prayer connects me not only to you but all those you ask me to pray for.  I forget.

What blessing comes when you come to us bearing the truth, a lesson, an insight, a challenge, or a reminder of faith at work!

Holy Father,
bless you
for your
mighty gifts.
We are
fragile, vulnerable children
who forget
who we are.
We forget
who our father is.
Awaken us
to faith
and all
its privileges,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
