Dear God,
Broken does not mean always. In so many ways we are a broken family. My three girls do not live their lives together. There are many reasons, some too tender and too painful to mention; however, you continue to make way for change, even teeny, weeny ones.
Although only one of my children came for Thanksgiving with her family and in laws, my granddaughter from one of the other families called to come over. We played games, sang silly songs, laughed like crazy and reminisced about the past. As I drove my granddaughter home following our time together, we put on Christmas songs and sang all the way home.It was wonderful! On the way home with another grandchild in tow singing Christmas songs, I thought of you and realized just how much your hand is at work in our family life and I smiled breathing a prayer of great gratitude.
Only you,
Generous God,
only you
can bring healing
to broken families.
Only you
can make
our hearts sing
once again.
Only you
can put smiles
on our faces
and laughter
in our hearts.
Thank you.
Love, Andrea
