Dearest God,

The world is not always safe.  There have been more shootings, this time in a hospital, usually a safe place.  People died, others were injured, so many more have now been terrorized.  So many people hurting.

No matter where people go, they cannot be assured of personal safety.  Yes, there are those who are hired to make safe places.  But even they cannot fully protect us.

There is only one shelter of safety and that is with you, Lord.  "You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble," the psalmist wrote.  It is so true.  These horrible happenings can draw us closer to you as we look for shelter in our own trouble.  Only with you can we find the peace
we need to live in troubled times.

Thank you
for being
our holy shelter.
Thank you
for your gift
of peace,
hope and comfort.
