Dear God,

You heard my longing for family.  You heard my cry to more deeply connect with my loved ones.  Although we are all busy, you made it possible for four of us to travel together for three days and two nights.  Today we left for northern Indiana.  As we ooohhhed and aaahhhed over the changing of colors in the trees on the farmland along state and county roads, I awed at our laughter, reminiscing stories and love for one another.  "Isn't it wonderful to be together?"  I asked and all agreed.  As I prayed at all three mealtimes today I felt a shiver of your spirit as we celebrated the gift of family.

You are God;
there is none
like you.
You hear
our cries.
You answer
our deepest longings.
You bless us
with one another.
