Dearest God,
Are the birds more vibrant in color and song this year? Are they more abundant? Are they your voice piece this spring? Or am I just noticing them as never before?
In the midst of uncertain times, perhaps we look ever more deeply to see and hear you. Before, maybe we were more distracted and busy to watch, wait and anticipate. For that I am sorry. Why would I ever want to miss you?
I just have never seen more birds in my contemplative garden. They seem to have flocked here. Maybe they too are looking for sanctuary, a dwelling place. But in the midst of their seeking, I am finding.
You bring blessings,
O Lord;
you bring blessings.
If only
we have eyes
to see
and ears
to hear.
You provide all,
O God,
every sense
to recognize you
and every display
of your
living presence
in the world.
Thank you.
Love, Andrea
