Dear God,

Authoress Ann Voskamp talks about bridges that connect our past and present.  That notion brought to mind how trust connects the bridge between faith and fear.  If I am on the precipice ready to fall, if I see no way out or if I feel lost without a friend and I am afraid, then all I need to do is trust you and I will see the bridge that will lead me from my fear to faith.  One step can lead me to peace and joy.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997, I was sorely afraid.  I stepped inside the darkness of fear and felt paralyzed.  Knowing I could fall into despair, I simply uttered your name and peace swept over me.  I breathed in that sweet peace shocked that it came so quickly.  The light came dispelling my darkness and I found you beside me through the whole, arduous journey.  Faith, trust and the light saved me.

Holy God,

today is 

a day

to celebrate faith

and trust.

too many

to count.

that redirect us

and lead us

to you.
