Dear God,

December 1, I cannot believe it.  When this first day of December rolls around again, I cannot help but think about you, about faith and hope and love, peace and joy.  It is the Advent season, the holy time of waiting, anticipating and giving.

I revel in these days when millions of hearts turn toward you.  There is something so very special about this season.  I love giving gifts to family, strangers, people who have special needs, to church, homeless shelters and to food pantries.

You turn our hearts inside out.  You show us how to show our hearts by listening to your voice, following your will and blessing others.  As we love with your love, we begin to see you in those around us.  You want us to find you in one another.  You truly want peace on earth for all.

Lead the way,

Holy God,

lead us

to you

and one another.

Open our hearts wide.

Stretch us

to love all,

not just

the lovable

but the unlovable

as well.
