Dear God,

Your gifts are beyond imagination.  When we consider our own gifts, we imagine them as less than they are.  Yet, when faced with great challenges, you give us strength, courage and power to overcome or to triumph.

Irena Sandler was one such person.  A Catholic woman with great compassion and heart for others, she rose up with great wisdom, love and determination to put in place resistance cells to smuggle more than 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw ghetto during the Nazi occupation.  The book, Irena's Children, revealed the unimaginable ways she took dangerous risks to save them.

All these years later, those children and their children and their children are living and telling their stories of hope, faith and miracles.  

You, O God,

are the

power, strength

wisdom, hope

and courage giver.

On our own

we can

do so little

but with you

we can do

so much.
