Dear God,

True, authentic peace only comes from you.  We may look in every direction for peace that is real peace, but it is not the peace you give.

Right now in a world where it seems evil darkness has all the power, it is difficult to find shalom peace.  Our hearts, minds and souls are restless and fearful.  We often find ourselves stuck in this place of terror; yet, peace is still possible but only with you.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was filled with fear.  I could not think of peace because there was no space for it within me.  So I stayed in fear.  Only when I realized I was helpless and powerless and I let go did I find the peace you were always offering.  

As I reflect upon my Ukrainian brothers and sisters, I want to rage and rise up to destroy the destroyer. I want to give peace to them.  Yet, I do not have the power to give such peace.  I can only help to bring peace when I pray and act in peace and do my part for sisters and brothers so far away.

Oh Lord,

please give peace

to all those

who suffer

especially your

Ukrainian children.

Make it deep.

Please eradicate

our need

for power

at the expense

of others.

Pour out

your love power,

I pray.
