Dear God,

I am overwhelmed with your generosity and grace.  As I daily sit down with my circle of friends (authors of devotional books) I listen to stories of faith, trust, surrender, wisdom and hope.  Although each person shares their struggle, your living, loving presence rises up to teach, challenge and bless.  There is no doubt in my mind that you are the one who leads me to each writer and their story.

How can it be that authors who come from dramatically different backgrounds, varying centuries and religious understanding can suddenly speak the same thing.  Faith, grace and compassion spill out as they simply tell their story filled with difficulty, challenge, hurt, fear, anxiety, pain and loss.  Yet, through it all, their trust in you, their belief and their witness open the door to faith in me.  How beautiful, holy and awesome!
