Dear God,

Thank you for democracy.  Thank you for the right to vote.  Thank you for challenging us to vote for what is right and good for all people.  For all people are beloved children, all.

As a nation we have done a poor job coming together.  We tout our way as the right way without listening to our brother and sister who differ in their views, beliefs and understandings.  We assume we know it all but there is only one who knows it all and that is you.  

Help us search for the truth and your will, O God.  Help us want what you want more than our own wishes.  Show us how to do this instead of looking for ways that simply plant your seal on our own desires.  For we need your way and will more than anything!

Nudge us

toward you,

Gracious God.

Help us

stand with you.

Guide us

to greater things,

I pray.
