Dear God,

Your ways are not like our ways; your ways are far better.  You taught me this lesson again today.  When we trust you, lean on you and follow you, you open the way to a better future.

These last few days have been very difficult and I finally fell backward into your waiting arms.  What you did for me all day long was astonishing, nearly beyond my believing.  It began with the music when a phrase stood out and spoke.  "Let the darkness teach me."  The song said.  I was living in darkness.  On the hour drive to the peach orchard, I saw a sign, "Forget me not."  Who could forget who was tending to my needs?

As I picked two bushels of peaches for canning, I spoke to different families as they picked near me.  I squatted down and talked with a little boy, maybe five years old.  With his parents standing beside him, I told him what a great picker he was. His father told me how he found a very special apple and his father lifted him to pick it off the tree.  I told him it was probably the best apple in the whole orchard.  A few minutes later he came up to me and said, "This is for you." And then he handed me his apple.  His dad asked him if he was sure he wanted to give it away and he said yes.  I asked if we could high five and he said yes and then walked away.  Talk about generosity and love, I caught the message.  All day long, one small gesture at a time, I was drawn under your wing.

Who cares more
than you,
Holy Father?
Whose love
can stretch
from one state
to another,
from one person
to another?
Thank you
for blessing me
so much today.
Thank you
for that
sweet boy
who was
an angel
to me.

Yours, Andrea
