Dear God,

Beyond each citizen's vote, we have no power to decide the next president of the United States.  We are so divided.  Hatred and vitriolic language are apparent in every state.  What has happened to us?

We have forgotten who created our nation and each member of it.  We have forgotten to trust and hope in you.  We have forgotten the way forward is always the way of love.  May it be so on this election day!

Holy God,

we praise you.

Thank you

for your

gentle presence,

your unconditional love

and your

kindly peace.

Teach us

your way

once again.
