Dear God,

So much of the world is hurting right now.  Many of these hurts are being caused by greedy, mean-spirited and evil doers.  Apparently, this is what they desire to do, hurt people.  Every time I hear one more account of purposeful harm, I want to scream.  Yet, what can one person do?  I pray but it hardly seems to matter.

How do we help one another, O God?  How can we eradicate suffering?  How do we stop the pain?

As this new year unfolds, there will be more pain and suffering as an evil man takes the seat at our White House.  Not known for compassion, love or understanding, he creates more suffering for so many.  What can we do, dear Father, what can we do?

You are God,

greater than

any leader

on earth.

Help us,

lead us,

fill us

with your

merciful spirit

and kindly ways.

Guide us

to love

one another.
