Dear God,

We protested yesterday.  We protested injustice, war, lies, inhumanity and abuse of all kinds.  We stood together, felt united and even said at one point, I love you to one another.  We are committed to caring for all our neighbors near and far.  We are all beloved children, even those we don't like but still regard as valued human beings on the planet.

When we sang resistance songs, we were one voice.  How could we be anything but?  It was our way of saying I love you to the world.  I like to think you were roaming the grounds with us, Living God.

teach us

your way,

dear God.

Help us

not slip

onto the

dark abyss

afraid, angry

and committed

to violence. 

Always show us

the better way.
