Dearest God,

Today I stand in the middle of Holy Week. It's not just any week. It is Holy Week and while the world pretty much looks the same this week, I sense the awesomeness of Holy Week. I carry it inside me. I preached with it last Sunday. I pray with it now. I am moving toward the end of the week when we commemorate the event, the relationship, the love of Jesus with his disciples, his love for the whole world, washing their feet, feeding them a holy meal of the spirit, opening doors and paths to a new life, dying and living again.

It is my favorite week of the year. Like most people I am rushing through it. Many responsibilities, five services to plan and orchestrate, four messages to put together, people to call and to instruct, props to put together, flowers to cut for the cross, and a spirit to be warmed. But while I rush, I am aware, I am conscious of the significance of this week. I carry your gospel in me.

Speak,
O Lord,
and I
will listen.
Whisper to me
the secrets,
the mysteries
of faith
that I
may bear
your good news
to the world.
My great desire
is to be
your friend,
your companion,
your child,
your servant.

Love, Andrea
