Dearest God,
One of the many life lessons I am learning right now is flexibility. Flexibility is when I follow a flow rather than interrupt it moving its direction. I am learning more about how to enable my own person to follow the flow of your spirit. I may or may not want the flow to take me in a particular direction; however, I want to always be willing to move like a branch on a willow tree. I want to move with the wind of your spirit.
Such flexibility is possible because I trust the wind that blows. I know who it is moving me, challenging me, bending and pushing me. I know the power of that wind. To resist it is to block the movement of your spirit in my life. Although I feel I have been tossed by strong winds, ultimately I know my limb will not break, fall and die. I believe that my branch will rely more and more on the tree in which I am rooted.
To imagine myself as a branch on a tree rather than something standing on a solid foundation is to place more and more trust in your will. Being out of my home this summer has taught me more about putting my trust in that which moves me rather than that which cannot move.
Holy Spirit,
breathe into me
your life-giving power.
Continue to
teach me
the way
of your
loving spirit.
Move me
to do
your will.
Grow my trust
so that
I will
be poised
to move
whenever you ask.
Love, Andrea
