My dearest God,
I love to meet you in morning prayer. I love beginning my day by listening for your voice inviting me to sit together for a while. My spirit waits to hear your word.
Daily events prick my spirit awareness. When I see a magnificent view whether a grandchild's breaking smile, a glowing sunset or our church choir practicing the Sunday morning anthem, I know you are present. Although I do not see Jesus in his ancient robe and sandals, I do know his loving presence.
My covenant group arrived Sunday for our yearly retreat. As we carefully drew our spirit story in the sand, I heard your voice speak through Jan, Cindy, Bill and me. We have learned together some of the ways your spirit moves. As we sometimes struggle to make sense of our individual journeys, we look for signs of your movement in our personal lives.
During our spiritual adventure we discovered new insights, revelations of your spirit and your ever-present grace. As we touched the holy, we gave voice to our joy and gratitude because we knew both had come from you.
My heart overflows
with joy,
my Lord,
as I
become aware
of your
gracious presence.
When I sense
your nearness,
hear your voice
or experience
your guiding direction,
I know
the intent
of life
is to
walk with you,
to accept
your will
as my own,
and to
meaningfully contribute
to the world
around me.
Just the reality
of a life
with you
is enough
to make
my spirit soar.
I love you.
Always, Andrea
