My dearest God,

What joy I experience when we sing Psalm 150 in our choir rehearsal. We know the song; we sang it for our recent festival. But we are still singing it because we have yet another celebration in northern Maine in which we will sing it once again.

Sometimes I close my eyes when we sing (so much for watching the director of music). I am drawn into the song because I know the god about who the psalmist writes. The time between us collapses when I sing his words. It is like a spirit talk with an old friend.

When I pause to remember your many mercies, I just want to shout out in praise and thanksgiving. I want to give in to the temptation to weep for joy. I want to dance, whirling and twirling myself into the heavenlies. I want to worship you, to adore you and to savor every moment of awareness of your great compassion.

I lift up
my eyes
as an
act of exaltation,
Loving God,
to give you
all my thanks.
My heart
is full
of joy
and love
just for you.
May I
always sing
with the psalmist,
the saints,
forgiven sinners,
and all those
who seek
to follow you .

Love, Andrea
