Dear God,
How can we match faith with stubbornness? How can we let faith move our resistance to change and transformation? Why do we hold onto beliefs and attitudes that do us no good, actually do us harm?
What is faith if not a power, an energy that equips us to rise up in every situation in life that drags us down? What is faith if not a zealous love for the One who loves us most and cares more about our well being than anyone around us? What is faith if not an understanding that you have given us untold resources to battle life's injustices, temptations, and challenges? What is faith if not a bulging hope that life can be better that it is?
I believe a miracle is when faith breaks through our barricades, when it says yes when we say no, and when our defenses opt to join the other side. I believe miracles happen when we embrace your will for our lives. I believe faith really can move the mountains in our lives, those placed there by someone else and those we've put there ourselves. A miracle is when something breaks loose in us, allowing your spirit to move in and take up permanent residence.
Faith is enough,
isn't it,
O Lord,
to remake us.
Faith in you,
faith in ourselves,
faith in change.
After all,
why would
we want
to stay
a caterpillar
all our lives?
Show us
the way
to becoming
beautiful butterflies
who simply follow
the master's instructions.
Love, Andrea
