Dear God,

Any scene before us can lead us to you.  A spectacular sunset where pink reigns in the sky or a beggar asking for help on the street can both take us directly to you.  One can inspire us to celebrate, give praise, or sing; the other can cause us to pray, to act, or to give.  Either way our souls are awakened to respond, to be present with you.

One of life's greatest gifts really is the awareness of your living presence in the world.  Like any friend taking a walk down the street, we can converse with one another.  We can experience an intimate emotional and spiritual connection when we allow ourselves to be connected, linked with you in daily living.  As we practice our divine friendship, something deep within happens to us.  Our lives are made full in faith.

Today as I drove through our little town, the golden leaves dancing in the wind, I paused to give thanks not because it was a picturesque Autumn scene of a New England town but rather it was a manifestation of the divine, a beautiful picture of you.

Great God,
thank you
for quiet moments
that speak
of great mysteries.
Thank you
for lifting
the veil
that sometimes
gets between
you and me.
Thank you
for scene
after scene
of you.

Love always, Andrea
