Dearest God,

You fill us with grace during transition times in our lives.  When we have to move emotionally, physically, psychologically, or spiritually, we can experience feelings of uncertainty, fear, confusion, and frustration. Because we are control creatures, we find it difficult, annoying, and frightening.  We can become irritable, angry, resentful, and judgmental.  We want to blame someone for our predicament.  Without even being aware, you come to us in a gentle breeze.  You baptize us with grace giving us hope, courage, and strength for our journey.

Sometimes our journeys seem long, O Lord.  We wonder if we will ever arrive at our destination. When we cannot see our way clear, we wonder if we are alone in our venture.  We forget faith is larger that we ourselves.  When we begin to feel insecure, it is because our side of faith is faltering. We fail to remember the larger part of faith is you.  Later when we reflect back upon our many life pilgrimages, we find signs and wonders of your presence all along our way.  Only then do we realize the magnitude of your love.

Merciful God,
you are constant
in your love
for us;
however, we
often fail
to love you back.
We become
so full
of ourselves
that we
squeeze you out.
We forget how
you make
extraordinary lives
out of
ordinary lives.
Teach us
to walk
by faith
every day,
trusting you
to lead us
and then
giving praise
in return.

Love always, Andrea
