Dear God,
When we travel with you to high mountains of faith, we look out over the mountain top. We breathe in the air of joy and gladness. We sing songs of praise because we know who has lead us to this place. We are humbled and grateful. We don't want to leave.
Yet, most of our life is valley living. We live in the day to day events. Life's ebbs and flows call us to respond. When we have been on the mountain, we remember your goodness. We recall how your stretching power inspired us to deepen our faith. The indwelling of your loving grace whispers to us to respond to life events with faith. We realize how faith gives us courage, hope, and light to see our way to responses that will best exhibit our recent trips to the holy of holies. In the valley, even the lowest part of the valley can be a place to remember we have what we need to travel well.
Gracious God,
thank you
for mountain travel.
Thank you
for clean air,
warm sunshine,
and beautiful sights.
Thank you
for hope
that inspires us
to move forward,
to take
giant leaps
and small steps
leading to you.
Thank you
for love
that encircles us
no matter
which direction
we choose.
Love, Andrea
