Dear God,

The author of Ecclesiastes wrote, "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven, a time to be born and a time to die..."  Sometimes we get stuck in a season and imagine it will never end.  A season of grief can be long and wearing.  We feel weighted down, full of burden and sorrow.  We cannot see the light in so much darkness.

Yet, the light does come piercing the darkness.  The scales lean in our direction lifting us up.  Our load is lightened and we feel alive once again.  Hope comes and peace returns.  We breathe in the air of your spirit and we know we have entered the season of joy.

This is your work.  We have the promise of your living presence and we know we shall not forever be down because your desire is for us to rise up in faith.  And so we do.

Holy God,
thank you
for the promise
of your presence.
Thank you
for remaining
with us
even in
the darkness
Thank you
for lifting us up.

Love, Andrea
