Dear God,

What comfort comes to us when we put our hope in you!  Sometimes we conclude life situations are hopeless.  We feel despairing because we can only see dead ends and closed doors.  We think nothing can change.  To the human eye it may look that way; however, we see something else when we look through your divine lens.

This came home to me recently when things looked bleak.  It was hard to see light.  Yet, through a back door you stepped inside and juggled things.  Another look proved me wrong.  I began to see movement of sacred dimension.  I sensed your living spirit at work.  Before long things changed in a most wondrous way.  Through it all you reminded me there are no dead ends or closed doors with you.  How magnificent it was to see your glory shine!  I was brought to faith more deeply as I acknowledged my lack of faith.  When I was enabled to see the light, I bowed down and gave praise.

Holy God,
your spirit
is at work
even if
we cannot
see it immediately.
Thank you
for your light
that shines brightly.
