Dearest God,

A very early morning trip to the hospital for a favorite cousin's cancer surgery ushered me into your waiting arms.  It was dark and really cold outside.  The roads were sloppy with salty wetness hitting the windshield.  The interstate was filling up with cars as drivers rushed to their destination.  Yet, inside my car I felt the sweet growing pains of faith.  As Andrea Bocelli sang, "Stand up and feel the holy spirit.  Find the power of your faith," I realized again how you turn darkness into light, cold into warmth, and sadness into joy.

In the every day ordinariness of life, you are anything but ordinary.  On the contrary, it is in the midst of the ordinary that the extraordinary comes to bless.  In but a moment a whole situation can be transformed, a somber mood can be disrupted, and faith can bloom.

Generous God,
your Holy Spirit power
amazes and inspires
us to faith.
Thank you
for the way
in which
you work
to bless
and to heal.
Make us ready,
prepare our souls
for your coming.
Prompt us
to bless others
as you
so beautifully
bless us,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
