Dear God,

You bring so much beauty to the earth in springtime!  When the grass suddenly turns green, trees begin to bud, and flowers rise to unfold their colorful petals, who is not stopped in their tracks to pause, breathe in, and smile?

One of your most wondrous gifts is the surprises of daily life.  When a bird lands on the windowsill and pauses for just a moment to sing, it is an awesome surprise.  When a newborn wraps her tiny hand around a mother's finger for the first time, it is a humbling, wondrous surprise.  When a sun peeks its head just above the early-morning horizon and shoots out rays of magnificent pink, orange, and red, it is enough to make us gasp at the amazing surprise. 

Each day is full of surprises because you are the God of surprises.  As they come to us, we are blessed knowing the greatest surprise of all is the wonder of you.
