Dear God,

When life seems too big, you call us to pare down, to simplify, to make smaller pieces and to take one thing at a time.  You tell us to trust you, to follow you, and to take small steps toward healing and peace.

Sometimes we are overwhelmed, Lord, and we feel swallowed up in the bigness of life.  We feel we will surely succumb to the demands, responsibilities and burdens we carry.  We lose faith because when life gets big, oftentimes our faith seems too small to do battle.  We fail to remember you are greater than any trouble we may experience.

In those moments when we rise up in faith to face life issues, we find you waiting to help us, to assist us in our fog, and to give us tools to deal with the challenges before us.  When we trust you, when we lean into you, and when we follow your lead, we discover strength we didn't know we had, courage to lift us up and prod us forward, and comfort that always brings peace.

Help us
rise up,
O Lord.
Direct us
to the skies,
tall and wide,
where we
find all
we need
to live victoriously.
Then hear
our victory cry
and praise
to you,
Master and Creator
of the Cosmos.
