Dear God,
Courage! You speak to our hearts, give us direction toward a better life, promise to be with us, hold us steady, and then urge us to have courage to move forward. Courage, a gift from you, Holy Father.
Sometimes it is difficult to move from where we are to where you want us to be. Although we may be miserable, we remain seated in our rut because it is familiar and predictable. But then you come to us in visions and dreams and you challenge us to leave our "home" for a brighter future. You reveal your plan to us and then you nudge us out of the nest promising to be with us in our transition. Courage, my child, you say to us, courage.
Someone I hold dear has lived in his own make-shift home for a long time. So comfortable and uncomfortable he stayed "home" because he perceived the future to be too scary to change. He stayed in the storm for so long he was weathered and weary. Finally, he decided to trust you, to have courage, and to step forward and so he did.
God of grace,
thank you
for your relationship
with each
of your children.
Thank you
for mercy
and gentle nudges.
Thank you
for courage
that helps us
move out
toward the light.
Love always, Andrea
