Dear God,

Driving alone back home after having driven nearly 1200 miles in the rain, I watched as the clouds began to dissipate.  I watched as they thinned out revealing the rising sun.  I watched as the sun's rays cut through the cloudy sky giving a peek at a beautiful blue sky.

Sometimes we get fixed on cloudy skies and rainy days in our lives.  We feel down and blue where everything looks gray, without light.  Our attitude, behavior, and actions are all tainted with stormy weather.  Instead of spreading sunshine, we inadvertently color dark clouds around others.  We forget the sun is shining even if we can't see it.

This morning I couldn't keep my eyes off the skies and the sun breaking through.  I thought how much more blessed our days could be if we fixed our eyes on you believing the light still shines even though we may be living in darkness.

God of Hope and Light,
thank you
for insightful moments
that arise
at unexpected times.
Thank you
for revealing yourself
to us.
Thank you
for loving us.

Love right back, Andrea
