Dear God,

The tree stood dormant all winter long.  Every time I looked out the window, everything remained the same.  Then a few weeks ago buds began to appear, gray and fuzzy and I knew spring was coming to life on each branch.

This week I noticed the buds looked fuller, like they were ready to burst.  When I peeked out my bedroom window I was anxious to see what would happen next.  This morning I noticed soft, white tips, the first sign of a flower growing inside.  Before we know it the star magnolia will pop with exquisite, delicate white flowers, the first to proclaim the glory of spring, resurrection, and new life.

I realize you have placed so many signs and symbols of your living spirit.  If we are open and anticipating, we will discover right around the corner the tiny gems that bespeak the glory of the Lord
.
Blessed God,
thank you
for signs
and symbols
of your
living presence.
Thank you
for constant reminders
of faith
that open us
to divine mysteries.
Thank you
for my
star magnolia,
the most
beautiful tree
in the garden.

Love always, Andrea
