Dear God,
Who can resist the sound of the birdsong? Yesterday as blue jays swooshed through the contemplative garden, the cardinals and robins sang their melodic songs of spring. What a beautiful display just outside the windows in our writing room.
Weeks ago the birds, perched on tree limbs, began singing their songs, first one, then another. The symphony of sound awakened me from my sick bed. I listened as the sweet music called me to prayer. I listened as they sang all day long, perhaps offering their own prayers of thanksgiving.
Loving God,
thank you
for messengers
of hope.
Thank you
for the beauty
of a
budding spring.
Thank you
for the sound
of heaven.
Love, Andrea
