Dear God,
You draw our eye to the place on the path where you want us to head. We may not know how or why we go but we have faith in you to follow.
The tiny picture in the brochure was all it took to lead me toward the Emerald Isles in Ireland. Kylemore Abbey, home to the Benedictine nuns, opened the way for gratitude, joy, and prayer. As we walked the grounds, you put a song in my heart. I sang it over and over in thanksgiving. When I stepped inside the memorial chapel, I moved to the front pew and prayed for the peace of the world. I prayed for family and hurting friends. I lit a candle.
I am always full in monasteries. I am immediately at home; you bid me welcome. I am happy, glad in faith, and blessed over the top. I know you. I feel your living presence sweeping over me and I breathe prayers because I am so grateful.
Holy God,
breathe on me.
Purify me.
Rid me
of arrogance,
selfishness,
and judgement.
Make me
your own
so I
may become
a witness
for you,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
